In order to determine the marks secured by the candidates in the UGC NET, a method of normalization has to be followed. The actual marks secured by the applicant in various shifts will be converted by NTA to the UGC NET Score (percentile).
If the examination is held in two shifts and 40% marks correspond to a percentile score of 74 in Shift 1 and 76 in Shift 2, then all those equal to or above 76 percentiles (Percentile score of 100 to 76) in both shifts will become eligible in the general category.
