UGC NET Prakrit Syllabus 2025: Download PDF Now!

The National Testing Agency, on behalf of the University Grants Commission, organizes the National Eligibility Test. The UGC NET examination is held biannually for 82 subjects. Prakrit is one of the 82 subjects. In June 2019, UGC NET Prakrit Paper III was withdrawn and Papers I and II were retained. We will discuss the UGC NET Prakrit syllabus and exam pattern for Paper II here. Candidates must know the detailed syllabus and exam pattern so that they can prepare well for the examination. 

  • 100 questions will be asked in the UGC NET Prakrit Paper II.
  • Some of the important units mentioned in the UGC NET Prakrit syllabus are- History of the Prakrit Language, Origin and characteristic features of different Prakrits, History of Prakrit Kāvya literature, Prakrit Scientific literature etc.
  • In June 2019, the UGC NET Prakrit cutoff for Junior Research Fellow and Assistant Professor was 73.33% and in December 2018 was 56.67%. It is evident that the cutoff has increased significantly from December 2018 to June 2019. The UGC NET Cutoff depends on the number of participants and the difficulty level of the paper.

UGC NET Prakrit Syllabus 2025

The UGC NET Prakrit syllabus consists of ten units. The candidates must read all these ten units in detail to achieve marks much higher than the cutoff. At first, candidates need to go through the syllabus very minutely and sort the topics that they are confident about. Then they should choose the most appropriate books and study materials that are in accordance with the UGC NET Prakrit syllabus and exam pattern.

UGC NET Prakrit Exam Pattern 2025

Learning the UGC NET Prakrit exam pattern along with the UGC NET Prakrit syllabus for Paper II is one of the most important things during the preparation. There are two papers in the UGC NET Prakrit examination-

  • Paper I- General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude
  • Paper II- Prakrit

Only multiple choice questions will be asked in the examination. The examination will be held through a Computer Based Test mode and for 3 hours. There is no break between the two papers. Questions in the UGC NET Prakrit Paper II will be asked in English or Hindi, as opted by the candidates.

-> The UGC NET Answer Key 2025 June was released on the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in on 06th July 2025.

-> The UGC NET June 2025 exam will be conducted from 25th to 29th June 2025.

-> The UGC-NET exam takes place for 85 subjects, to determine the eligibility for 'Junior Research Fellowship’ and ‘Assistant Professor’ posts, as well as for PhD. admissions.

-> The exam is conducted bi-annually - in June and December cycles.
