UGC NET Comparative Study of Religions Syllabus 2025: Download PDF Now!
The National Testing Agency is responsible for administering the UGC NET examination on behalf of the University Grants Commission. The UGC NET examination is conducted biannually for 82 different subjects, the Comparative Study of Religions being one of them. Since June 2019, UGC NET Paper III has been removed and the syllabus and exam pattern have been updated. As of now, there are only two papers - Paper I (compulsory for all) and Paper II (as chosen by the candidates). Here we will discuss in detail the UGC NET Comparative Study of Religions Syllabus and exam pattern.
- 14 candidates appeared for the UGC NET Comparative Study on Religions in June 2019 where only 1 candidate appeared for JRF & Assistant Professor and 13 for Assistant Professor only.
- A total of 100 multiple-choice questions will be asked in the Paper II of the UGC NET Comparative Study on Religions.
- Some of the important topics to be covered are- Study of Religion, Pre-historical religious forms, Modern trends in the study of religion etc.
- June 2019 cutoff for this subject was 70.67 for JRF & Assistant Professor. The same was higher in December 2018 i.e. it was 76.00. The UGC NET Cutoff depends on the number of candidates who appeared and the difficulty level of the paper.

The UGC NET Comparative Study of Religions Paper II examination will be conducted in the Computer Based Test mode. The two papers are-
- Paper I - General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude
- Paper II - Comparative Study on Religions
The medium of paper II will be English and Hindi. 100 multiple choice questions of 2 marks each will be asked in the examination. You must be well aware of the exam pattern to prepare well for the examination.
