प्रयुक्त सूत्र:
धारा के प्रतिकूल = v - u
धारा के अनुकूल = v + u
v = आदमी की चाल
u = धारा की चाल
गणना:
हम जानते हैं कि,
चाल = दूरी/समय
5 घंटे में 16 किमी धारा के अनुकूल
v + u = 16/5 ----(1)
5 घंटे में 4 किमी धारा के प्रतिकूल
v - u = 4/5 ----(2)
समीकरण 1 और समीकरण 2 से
2v = 20/5 = 4 किमी/घंटा
⇒ v = 2 किमी/घंटा
⇒ u = 1.2 किमी/घंटा
∴ धारा की चाल 1.2 किमी/घंटा है।
