Pardhi Caste 

• Pardhi is a Hindu tribe in India. The tribe is found mostly in Maharashtra and parts of Kumari Devi from Belsonda village of MAhasamund District of Chhattisgarh.
• The word Pardhi is derived from the Marathi (state language) word ‘Paradh’ which means hunting and Sanskrit word ‘papardhi’ which means hunting or the game to be hunted.
• The Pardhi worship nature and goddesses rather than gods. They worship "dhani" and "jarane"by sacrificing goats.
• The Pardhi still bear the stigma of originally being branded as criminals, and so they tend to live in isolated, economically disadvantaged areas. 
  • Due to discrimination, extreme poverty, and lack of education, employment and social ethics, some Pardhi were and still are compelled to hunt for food or lead a life of crime.
• The Pardhi are known by various names in different regions. In Pardhi language they are called Waagharis.
