Given:

A train running at 7/11 of its normal speed reached a place in 22 hours.

Formula Used:

Time saved = Time taken at reduced speed - Time taken at normal speed

Calculation:

Let the normal speed of the train be S .

Time taken at reduced speed = 22 hours

Speed at reduced speed = (7/11)S

Distance = Time taken at reduced speed × Speed at reduced speed

Distance = 22 × (7/11)S

Distance = 14S

Time taken at normal speed = Distance / Normal speed

Time taken at normal speed = 14S / S

Time taken at normal speed = 14 hours

Time saved = Time taken at reduced speed - Time taken at normal speed

Time saved = 22 - 14

Time saved = 8 hours

The correct answer is option 3.
