PDA, an acronym that stands for Personal Digital Assistant, is essentially a mobile device that functions as a personal information manager. These compact devices, also known as palmtops or pocket computers, are typically equipped with a touch screen for input via a stylus, allowing users to jot down notes, browse the internet, and even read charts and graphs.
The initial versions of PDAs were primarily pen-based, designed to accept input through a stylus rather than a keyboard. These devices even featured handwriting recognition capabilities. Over time, voice recognition technology was incorporated, further enhancing the user experience. Modern PDAs come in various forms, with either a stylus or keyboard for input.
