SBI PO Syllabus 2025, New Exam Pattern for Prelims & Mains Exam
The State Bank of India (SBI) conducts the SBI PO exam to recruit Probationary Officers across its branches in India. For the 2025 recruitment cycle, SBI has released a total of 600 vacancies, with the SBI PO Mains exam scheduled for 5th May 2025. To succeed in this competitive exam, candidates must be well-versed with the detailed SBI PO syllabus for both the Preliminary and Main examinations. The Prelims exam covers three core sections: Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language, each consisting of a variety of topics that test analytical and language skills. The Mains exam is more extensive, comprising Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language. Since the SBI PO syllabus is similar to most other banking exams, candidates are advised to review SBI PO previous years’ question papers to understand the topic-wise weightage.

SBI PO Exam Pattern Revised
Before the candidates appear for the SBI PO Examination, it is essential for the candidates to know the SBI PO Exam Pattern and mark distribution for Prelims. Check the SBI PO New Pattern below:

Note* -
- The Prelims exam will be conducted for 60 minutes and the total marks will be 100 marks.
- Each correct answer will fetch you 1 mark and for every incorrect answer 1/4th of the assigned marks shall be deducted.
SBI PO Exam Pattern for Mains
SBI has made changes in the SBI PO Exam pattern for Mains section this year by increasing the weightage for the General Awareness section. The Mains examination will have an objective type test and a descriptive test. The weightage for the mains exam sections are given below in the table.

Note* -
- The objective test in the Main examination will be conducted for 180 minutes and the total number of questions will be 170.
- The descriptive test in the SBI PO Mains Exam will be conducted for 50 marks and the duration will be 30 minutes.
- For every incorrect answer 1/4th of the assigned marks will be deducted.
