Whose last step is remedial teaching?

Diagnostic teaching: It helps the teachers to know the learning difficulties or gaps in learner's understanding and identifying learner's strengths, weaknesses, skills, etc. To locate and identify the areas of learning difficulties leads to Diagnostic Testing.

Steps of diagnostic testing:

• Identifying students who are having trouble or need help

• Locating the errors and learning difficulties/gaps

• Discovering the causal factors of slow learning
• Removing difficulties through remedial teaching

Remedial teaching: It helps the teacher to provide learners with the necessary help and guidance to overcome the problems which are determined during diagnostic teaching.

NOTE:

• Inquiry model emphasizes connecting the child with their own experiences by posing questions and making decisions in the search for new understanding.
• Interpretive teaching refers to the teaching approach in which the teacher makes learning alive by relating the topic to the learners through adequate and meaningful interpretation.

Hence, it becomes clear that remedial teaching is the last step of diagnostic teaching.
