Given:

Arjun got 50% votes more than Saral, and Saral got 2% votes less than Bhaskar.

The difference between the votes of Bhaskar and Saral = 1296

Formula used:

Percentage = (Part / Whole) × 100

Solution:

Let the total number of votes Bhaskar got be 100x.

The votes received by Saral = 100x - 2% of 100x

⇒ 98x

The votes received by Arjun = 98x + 50% of 98x

⇒ 147x

The difference between the votes of Bhaskar and Saral = 1296

⇒ 100x - 98x = 1296

⇒ x = 1296/2

⇒ x = 648

The difference between the votes of Bhaskar and Arjun = 147x - 100x

⇒ 47x

Half of the difference between the votes of Arjun and Bhaskar = 47x/2

⇒ x → 648

⇒ 47x/2 → 648 × 47/2

⇒ 47x/2 → 324 × 47

⇒ 47x/2 → 15228

Half of the difference between the votes of Arjun and Bhaskar is 15228.
