प्रयुक्त सूत्र:
P द्वारा 1 दिन में किया गया कार्य = 1/18
Q द्वारा 1 दिन में किया गया कार्य = 1/30
गणनाएँ:
Q द्वारा 22 दिनों में किया गया कार्य = 22 × (1/30) = 22/30 = 11/15
शेष कार्य = 1 - 11/15 = 4/15
P और Q द्वारा एक साथ 1 दिन में किया गया कार्य = 1/18 + 1/30
⇒ P और Q द्वारा एक साथ 1 दिन में किया गया कार्य = (5 + 3) / 90 = 8/90 = 4/45
