Given:

Typist P can type a sheet in 6 minutes, typist Q in 7 minutes and typist R in 9 minutes.

Concept used:

1 hour = 60 minutes

Total = Average × Number of entities

Calculation:

In 60 minutes, i.e., 1 hour,

Typist P can type = 60/6 = 10 sheets

Typist Q can type = 60/7 = 60/7 sheets

Typist R can type = 60/9 = 20/3 sheets

Total typed sheets in 1 hour = 10 + 60/7 + 20/3 = 530/21

The average number of sheets typed per hour per typist if all three typists are typing

⇒ (530/21) ÷ 3

⇒ 530/63

∴ The average number of sheets typed per hour per typist if all three typists are typing is 530/63.
