What are the marks (in percentage) obtained by Mohan?

Calculations:

The actual marks obtained by Mohan in each subject.

Physics: \(80\% \text{ of } 300 = \frac{80}{100} \times 300 = 240 \text{ marks}\)

Maths: \(60\% \text{ of } 300 = \frac{60}{100} \times 300 = 180 \text{ marks}\)

Music: \( 70\% \text{ of } 100 = \frac{70}{100} \times 100 = 70 \text{ marks}\)

Hindi: \(95\% \text{ of } 100 = \frac{95}{100} \times 100 = 95 \text{ marks}\)

Botany: \(80\% \text{ of } 200 = \frac{80}{100} \times 200 = 160 \text{ marks}\)

Total marks obtained by Mohan = 240 + 180 + 70 + 95 + 160 = 745 marks

Maximum marks = 300 + 300 + 100 + 100 + 200 = 1000 marks

⇒ Percentage = \( \left(\frac{745}{1000}\right) \times 100\)

⇒ Percentage = 74.5%

∴ Mohan obtained 74.5% marks.

Mistake Points 
The total maximum marks are different for all subjects. Marks are given in the percentage.

For example, Mohan's marks in Physics = 80 it's mean 80% of maximum marks = 80% of 300 = 240

Same as, Mohan's marks in Music = 70% of maximum marks of music = 70% of 100 = 70

​So,

Total maximum marks = 1000

and

Marks achieved by Mohan = 745

So,

%Marks = (745/1000) * 100 = 74.5%
