Question
Download Solution PDFDesign strength for M 25 concrete in direct compression, bending compression and flexural tension area, respectively.
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFConcept:
In limit state method,
Strength in direct compression = 0.40 × fck
Strength in bending compression = 0.45 × fck
Strength in flexural tension = 0.7 × √fck
Where fck is the characteristics strength of concrete.
Calculation:
fck = 25
Strength in direct compression=0.40 × fck = 0.40 × 25 = 10 MPa
Strength in bending compression = 0.45 × fck = 0.45 × 25 = 11.25 MPa
Strength in flexural tension = 0.7 × √fck=0.7 × 5 = 3.5 MPa
