Download Solution PDFBy interchanging the given two signs which of the following equation will be not correct?
+ and ÷
I. 9 ÷ 6 × 4 + 2 - 5 = 16
II. 5 - 28 + 7 × 16 ÷ 4= -103
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFThe logic followed here is :-
By using BODMAS RULE :
I. Given equation : 9 ÷ 6 × 4 + 2 - 5 = 16
After interchanging the given two symbols + and ÷ the equation is as follows : 9 + 6 × 4 ÷ 2 - 5 = 16
⇒ 9 + 6 × 4 ÷ 2 - 5 = 16
⇒ 9 + 6 × 2 - 5 = 16
⇒ 9 + 12 - 5 = 16
⇒ 21 - 5 = 16
⇒ 16 = 16
LHS = RHS
II. Given equation : 5 - 28 + 7 × 16 ÷ 4= -103
After interchanging the given two symbols + and ÷ the equation is as follows : 5 - 28 ÷ 7 × 16 + 4 = -103
⇒ 5 - 28 ÷ 7 × 16 + 4 = -103
⇒ 5 - 4 × 16 + 4 = -103
⇒ 5 - 64 + 4 = -103
⇒ 9 - 64 = -103
⇒ -55 ≠ -103
LHS ≠ RHS
∴ Here, Conclusion II is not correct.
Hence, the correct answer is "Only II".
