Number of pipes = 23

Number of pipes used = 47

Formula used:

Time is inversely proportional to the number of pipes:

Time₁ × Pipes₁ = Time₂ × Pipes₂

Calculation:

29 × 23 = Time₂ × 47

⇒ Time₂ = (29 × 23) / 47

⇒ Time₂ = 667 / 47

⇒ Time₂ = 14.19 minutes

∴ The correct answer is option (2).
