Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Total amount = Rs. 960
Denominations of coins: 1 rupee, 5 rupees, and 10 rupees
Number of coins in each denomination is equal
Formula Used:
Total value = (Number of coins) × (Denomination)
Calculation:
Let the number of coins in each denomination be x.
Value of 1 rupee coins = 1 × x = x
Value of 5 rupee coins = 5 × x = 5x
Value of 10 rupee coins = 10 × x = 10x
Total value = x + 5x + 10x = 16x
Given total value = Rs. 960
⇒ 16x = 960
⇒ x = 960 / 16
⇒ x = 60
Total number of coins = 3x = 3 × 60 = 180
∴ The total number of coins is 180.
