Candidates should make sure that they are familiar with the CBI DSP LDCE UPSC Eligibility Criteria before applying. The eligibility consists of the various components as discussed below:

Age Limit

The upper age limit of the candidates must be between 18 to 35 years. However, certain relaxations will be provided to certain categories. The age is relaxable for SC/ST candidates up to 5 years and up to 3 years for OBC candidates. The SC/ST/OBC candidates have to produce a caste certificate in the prescribed format to avail the benefits of reservation.

Educational Qualification

The candidates must have a degree from a recognized university as the minimum educational qualification.

Nationality

A Candidate must be either: 

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or 
  • A subject of Bhutan, or 
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or 
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Number of Attempts

The Union Public Service Commission has specified no restrictions on the number of attempts to appear in the UPSC CBI DSP LDCE recruitment drive. Candidates can apply for the post till they fulfill all the eligibility criteria.
