JEE Advanced Educational Qualifications

To be eligible for JEE Advanced, candidates must have successfully completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board. The subjects should include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. Additionally, candidates should have secured a minimum percentage of marks in these subjects as specified by the examination authorities. This ensures that candidates possess the necessary foundational knowledge and academic qualifications to tackle the rigorous JEE Advanced examination and succeed in their pursuit of admission to top engineering institutions like the IITs.

JEE Advanced Number of Attempts

The candidates can only attempt the given exam for two consecutive years. So, the permitted number of attempts is 2 for a candidate. But, As per a Supreme Court directive issued on January 10, 2025, students who appeared for their Class 12 exams in 2023 and later dropped out or withdrew from their courses between November 5 and November 18, 2024, are now eligible to register for JEE (Advanced) 2025. This ruling offers a renewed chance for these students to achieve their academic aspirations.

IIT- If a candidate has studied in an IIT earlier, then he/she is not eligible to sit for the JEE Advanced. This applies irrespective of whether or not the student continues studying the course for a full-term or just reported at the center & accepted the seat. The JEE Advanced authorities consider their admission as canceled.
