Stokes theorem:

1. Stokes theorem enables us to transform the surface integral of the curl of the vector field A into the line integral of that vector field A over the boundary C of that surface and vice-versa. The theorem states.

2. The flux of the curl of a vector function A over any surface S of any shape is equal to the line integral of the vector field A over the boundary C of that surface i.e.

Stokes Theorem is given as:

It converts a line integral to a surface integral and uses the curl operation.

Hence Stokes theorem uses the curl operation.

Important Points

Green’s Theorem:

If M(x, y), N(x, y), My and Nx be continuous in a region E of the xy-plane bounded by a closed curve C, then

So Green's theorem doesn't use the curl operation.

Gauss divergence theorem:

1. It states that the surface integral of the normal component of a vector function F̅  taken over a closed surface ‘S’ is equal to the volume integral of the divergence of that vector function F̅ taken over a volume enclosed by the closed surface ‘S’.

2. Mathematically, it can be written as:

This theorem also does not uses curl operation.

Maxwell's Equations for Electromagnetic Waves: Maxwell has given four laws for electromagnetic Induction.

Ampere Circuital Law: Line Integral of the magnetic field is equal to permittivity multiplied by current. In maxwell current displacement current is also added to it.

Gauss Law for magnetism: The magnetic flux across the closed surface is always zero.

Gauss Law for Electric flux: The electric flux through a closed surface is charge enclosed by permeability

Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction: The change in magnetic flux is equal to the emf generated.

Hence Maxwell's equations in integral form do not use curl operation.
