Given:

The new kinetic energy, \(K.E'=\frac{1}{2}m'v'^2\)
\(K.E'=\frac{1}{2}(2m)(2v)^2\)
\(K.E'=8\frac{1}{2}mv^2\)

Hence, the kinetic energy becomes 8 times.
