Gamma:

It is defined as the current gain in common collector configuration and it is the ratio of emitter current (output current) to base current (input current) \(\gamma = \frac{I_E}{I_B}\)
It is also defined as how much current is injected from the emitter to the base after the recombination of minority charge carriers in the base.
Its value is high as compared to common-base current gain and common-emitter current gain.
Normally its value if more than 100.

The common-emitter current gain is β

The relation between α and β is

\(\beta = \frac{\alpha }{{1 - \alpha }}\)

γ = 1 + β
