Given:

A policeman spots a thief at a distance of 360 m.

Both the policeman and the thief simultaneously start running, with the former chasing the latter.

Concept used:

Distance = speed × time

Calculation:

Relative speed is (9.2 -8) × 5/18 = 1/3 m/s

Time taken to catch the thief 360 / (1/3) = 1080 sec

Distance covered in that time by the police is,

9.2 × (5/18)× 1080 = 2760 m
