SEED Exam 2023 Result Out! The exam was held on 15th January 2023. The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) is conducted by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) for selecting candidates for the BDes Programme. The SEED Entrance Exam 2023 selects candidates for the UG programmes under the four major disciplines Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design and Fashion Communication.

SEED 2023 Exam Highlights

All the important information and latest notifications regarding the SEED Entrance Exam should be noted by the candidates. The important highlights of the exam are given in the below table.

What is SEED?

Symbiosis International University is a group of 48 academic institutions. The university with its motto ‘Promoting International Understanding through Quality Education’ has been imparting quality education to students from India and Abroad for over 50 years. The Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India entitled the Symbiosis International University as a Deemed University. The Symbiosis Institute of Design is the design institute under the Symbiosis International University. The institute is ranked third among the Emerging Design Institutes of India. The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the Symbiosis Institute of Design. The exam selects students for the various Bachelor of Design programmes in the institute. The B.Des is a four-year programme. The institute offers B.Des programmes in four disciplines. They are Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design and Fashion Communication.

SEED 2023 Notification Important Dates

The dates for all the admission procedures are published on the official website. The candidates should carry out all the important steps in the admission process within the prescribed dates. If any of the processes is not complete before the last date, the application of the candidate will not be considered for the admission process. The important dates of the SEED Entrance Exam Notification are as follows.

SEED Eligibility Criteria 2023

To apply for the SEED Entrance Exam the candidates should qualify for the specified eligibility as per the ruler. The candidates should always make sure that they are eligible for the programme before registering for any exam. Any candidate who has faked their eligibility will be disqualified from the admission process. The eligibility criteria for SEED are as follows.

Educational Qualification

The candidates should have a certain educational qualification to apply for the SEED. the educational qualification is as follows:

• Passed 10+2 in any stream or 10+3 diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education with a minimum of 50% for General candidates and 45% for SC/ST candidates.
• Appearing the examination of 10+2 in any stream or 10+3 diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education. 

Age and Number of Attempts

There is no age specification or the number of attempts specified to be eligible for the SEED examination.

Nationality

The candidates from India, as well as Abroad, can apply for the SEED exam provided that they fulfil all the other eligibility criteria.

Reservation

The candidates have certain reservations if they are from socially or economically backward classes. The SC/ST candidates' minimum needed percentage for the 10+2/10+3 Diploma is 45%. Also, a certain percentage of seats are reserved for these categories. The reservation in seats is as follows.

SEED Selection Process

The candidates after their successful online registration will be able to attend the SEED exam. Once they clear this exam, the candidates will have to go through a round of Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction. The candidates are selected for the B.Des program in the SID according to their performance in these two steps of the admission process.

SEED 2023 Registration Process

The candidates are required to register themselves on the official website as the first step of the admission process. While registering yourself make sure that the details filled by you are right. Especially the phone number and email id, as all further notifications will be shared through the provided details.

SEED 2023 Application Process

The candidates are required to do further procedures by logging in to their profile with the credentials generated during the registration process. The steps to be followed by the candidate to complete their application process are as follows.

SEED 2023 Application Fee

The SEED accepts an application fee from all the candidates appearing for the examination. The candidates need to pay this fee during the registration process. The Registration will only be considered completed after paying the fee. The fee amount for all the candidates is the same. The fee details are as follows.

SEED 2023 Syllabus

There are two rounds to the SEED. The SEED Exam and the PRPI Round. The syllabus for both these is mentioned below.

SEED Exam Syllabus

The SEED Exam is a Design Aptitude Test. All the questions present in the question paper are MCQs. The candidates are required to select the correct answer from the given four options in the question paper. The candidates should make sure to start their preparations before the release of the notification, as the candidates need to cover the SEED exam syllabus thoroughly. The below table provides a brief introduction to the syllabus of the exam.

PRPI Syllabus

In the PRPI round, the candidates will have to upload their portfolio and take a personal interview. Both these are conducted through online mode. The candidates need to upload a well-formulated portfolio as per the instructions given to them through their profile in the admission portal. During the interview the candidates can expect questions from:

• Basic knowledge of Design
• A piece of knowledge about the programme they have chosen
• Based on any sketch or instruction to sketch something, etc.

SEED 2023 Exam Pattern and Test Structure

The exam pattern should be considered very important while preparing for the examination. The candidates should follow this and allot time to each subject accordingly.

The exam pattern for the SEED exam is as follows.

PRPI Exam Pattern

The PRPI will be conducted online. This round is conducted in two phases. The phase to which the candidate is allotted and the important instructions will be provided with the admit card of PRPI.

SEED Admit Card 2023

The candidates need to download their Admit Cards for both rounds from their profiles on the official website. The candidates should take a copy of the admission card to the SEED exam centre. The dates on which the SEED admit card will be released are different for both rounds. Therefore, the candidates need to download them accordingly. 

The steps to be followed to download the admit card are as follows.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Admit Card’ option. The candidate will be redirected to the log-in portal.

Step 3: Log in using the candidates’ SEED ID and Password

Step 4: The admit card will be available on the screen.

Step 5: Download the admit card and take printouts for future procedures.

SEED 2023 Exam Centres

Several exam centres are allotted for the SEED Entrance Exam in India. The allotment of examination centres in each state is done by the SIU. The candidate will be notified about their centre of examination on the admit card itself. The candidates will be able to select three preferred exam centres of their choice. Mostly they will be allotted any of these. If there is any change regarding the exam centres they will be notified through the official website. The state-wise list of exam centres is given below.

Documents Required at Exam Centres

The candidate must carry proper stationery and their Admit Card to the exam centre. If any candidate is found to not have their admit card or have other extra materials than needed, they will not be allowed to attend the exam. Their candidature will be cancelled.

SEED 2023 Answer Key

The answer key for the SEED exam won’t be released on the official website. The candidates can do proper research of their own to find out the answers to each question and verify that with their answers.

SEED 2023 Result and Scorecard

The results and the first merit list of the SEED were released on the official website of SID. The final results and merit list is calculated according to the candidates’ performance in the SEED Exam and the PRPI Round. The SEED Exam Results and the scorecard were released on the 23rd of February. The final result and mark list were released on the 15th of April. The candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download their results.

Step 3: Log in using the candidates’ SEED ID and Password

Step 4: The candidates will be able to view their results and scorecard.

Step 5: Download the results and take printouts for future references.

SEED 2023 Counselling 

The SEED 2023 doesn’t carry out counselling sessions online or offline. Rather the candidates have to confirm their seats by paying the fee. Once the final merit list is out, the candidates will be able to view their rank in the result. With this, they will be notified of the programme for which they have been selected to.

SEED 2023 Cut-Offs

The SEED does not publish the cut-offs for their exam. The candidate can verify the answers on their own. The candidates can do so by going through various study materials both online and offline and finding the answers to them. Once done, they can verify their answers with the right ones and calculate their expected score.

There are no major changes in the SEED Exam over the years.
