The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh has started the PGIMER Online Registration for the entrance examination. The PGIMER Exam is conducted twice every year, and the online registration for the January 2023 session has started now. All the candidates are required to register themselves in the online portal to participate in the admission process in this academic year. The admission will be carried out through INI CET scores.

  • Before the PGIMER Registration, all the candidates should make sure that they are eligible to be part of the admission process by going through the eligibility criteria properly.
  • The Online Registration PGIMER was started on the 5th of September 2022. Know about the PGIMER exam syllabus and exam pattern here.

PGIMER Application Fee

The candidates are required to pay a certain amount of rupees as the registration fee. The fee can be paid in between the registration process through any of the online payment gateways provided. The fee for the DM & M.Ch or MHA Course (INI SS) should be paid through the challan method. Candidates have to make sure to fill up the challan form in the name of the Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh (Examination). If any candidates fail to pay the fee, their application will be considered invalid. Therefore candidates should make sure that they pay the fee to complete the registration process. The application fee details for the candidates are provided in the below table.

How to Apply for the PGIMER Application Process?

The candidates have to follow certain steps to register for the PGIMER examination. The application must be filled in through the PGIMER Online Registration portal. Candidates should make sure that all the details filled in are correct. All the documents uploaded should be genuine. If any documents are found to be forged or incorrect and if any details filled in are found to be incorrect, the candidates will be rejected from the admission process. Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to register themselves for the exam. 

Step 1: Visit the Official Website.

Step 2: Select the “New Candidate Registration” link for the desired course.

Step 3: Fill in all the required details in the form provided. 

Step 4: Submit the registration form.

Step 5: Now login to the application form using the credentials generated through the registration process.

Step 6: Fill in all the required details in the application form. Candidates’ personal details, contact details, educational qualifications, preferred examination centre, program applying for, etc. should be filled in.

Step 7: Upload the required documents asked for in the document section.

Step 8: Pay the application fee using any one of the payment gateways provided in the application form.

Step 9: “Final Submit” the application form.

Step 10: Download and take printouts of the confirmation page for further processes.

PGIMER Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should make sure that they are eligible for admission before registering for the examination. The candidates should qualify for all the eligibility pointers provided. If any candidate is found to be not eligible during any step of the admission process, they will be disqualified from the admission process. Only those candidates who have an MBBS degree from an Institute or University recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) are eligible to apply for the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research entrance exam.

There are no Age Limits Criteria for applying for admission in various PG streams offered by PGIMER 

Candidates must have completed one year of rotatory internship till June 30 for the July session and till December 31 for the January session

Indian citizens, Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, and Foreign Nationals.

DM/ M.Ch

The candidate must have done MD/MS or should have completed any other equivalent course from an MCI recognized university.

MPH

The candidate must have done BPH or should have completed any other equivalent course from an MCI recognized university.

MDS

The candidate must have done BDS or should have completed any other equivalent course from an MCI recognized university.

M.Sc

The candidate must have done B.Sc or should have completed any other equivalent course from an MCI recognized university.

Ph.D

The candidate must have completed the master’s degree in the relevant specialization from a recognised university with at least 55% marks in the aggregate.

The candidates are required to upload certain documents in the application form. Without proper documents, no application will be considered valid by the authority. PGIMER Important Instructions

The candidates should make sure to follow all the instructions provided carefully before registering for the admission process. The candidates will be instructed on various pages and forms as per the process. Everything should be done carefully. Some of the Dos and Don’ts to be kept in mind by the candidates are as follows.

Do’s

  • All the candidates must make sure that the information provided by them is correct.
  • The documents should not be forged. Everything should be genuine.
  • The application should be completed within the last date provided.
  • Candidates should make sure that the exam centre preference added should be right and nearer to the place of their residence.
  • The candidates should read all the instructions properly and carefully before registering.

Don’ts

  • No documents should be forged or incorrect.
  • No wrong/ false information should be added.
  • An incorrect amount of fees will not be accepted by the authorities.
  • No application should be sent to the office by post. Everything should be done online as per the instructions provided.

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) conducts the INICET exam twice a year, in January and July, for admission to postdoctoral and postgraduate courses. Candidates who wish to pursue MD, MS, MCh, or DM specializations must clear the INICET exam and participate in the counseling rounds. Admit cards for the entrance exam can be downloaded approximately 10 days prior to the exam date from the official website using the login credentials. Seat reservation criteria are applicable to candidates from all categories. The Round 2 seat allotment result for INI CET was announced on August 27, 2022. The application process is conducted online.
