The notification for the MP High Court District Judge Selection Process is released by the Madhya Pradesh High Court for 2023. The MP High Court District Judge Selection Process is carried out in three stages, i.e., the Preliminary Exam, the Main Exam, and the Interview Round. The final selection is made on the performance of the candidate in the Main exams and the Interview process.

MP High Court District Judge Recruitment Selection Process 2023

The MP High Court District Judge recruitment exam is divided into three stages. Each stage has a specific syllabus and exam pattern. The detailed selection process is given below:

  • Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam stage is considered as the screening test. The candidates who qualify the Preliminary Exam are called to the Main Exam. All the questions of the preliminary exam are of objective type in nature. The preliminary exam consists of a single paper, which is further divided into 18 subtopics. The exam consists of 150 questions for 120 minutes. For each correct answer, the candidate is awarded one mark.
  • Main Exam: The MP High Court District Judge Main Examination will be conducted on two consecutive days i.e., in the first and second shifts. The Main Exam is divided into 4 papers. The exams shall be of the descriptive type in nature. Each paper is conducted for 100 marks. On day one, Paper-1 and Paper-2 will be conducted. On day two, Paper-3 and Paper-4 will be conducted. 
  • Interview: Candidates who qualify both the Preliminary Exam and the Main Exam are called for the Interview Process. The candidates must take this round seriously as the interview process has a weightage of 50 marks. Candidates who score a minimum of 40% marks are to be selected. The interview round is to be held only at Jabalpur. The questions in the interview round may be based upon the syllabus or related to national and international issues, and other such questions that check the candidate's presence of mind.

MP High Court District Judge Selection Process 2023 - Preliminary Exam

The first stage of the MP High Court District Judge Selection Process is the Preliminary Examination. The Preliminary exam is of objective type in nature. This is a screening test. It consists of one paper that is further divided into 18 subtopics. A total of 150 questions are asked in the paper. Each correct answer is awarded one mark in the MP High Court District Judge Preliminary Exam. Refer to the table given below for the detailed exam pattern:

MP High Court District Judge Selection Process 2023 - Main Exam

The MP High Court District Judge Main Exam is divided into 4 papers. Paper-1 is for the Civil Laws & Procedure conducted for 100 marks. Paper-2 is related to Writing Skills, Court Practice & Current Legal Knowledge for 100 marks. Paper-3 is Criminal Laws & Procedure for 100 marks and Paper-4 is related to Judgment Writing etc for 100 marks. The Main exam is conducted on two consecutive days in the first and second shifts totalling 400 marks.

The interview/ viva voce exam is the last round in the MP High Court District Judge Selection Process. This round is conducted for 50 marks. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has released the Proposed Model Answer Keys for the Objective Type Online Preliminary Exam-2023, held on 03-12-2023. Earlier, a total of 21 vacancies for the District Judge post were released. Candidates had applied online from 22nd August to 12th September 2023. The selection of the candidates is based on the performance in the Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Interview. Aspirants finally posted as District Judge (entry level) through direct recruitment from Bar Exam 2023 in the Madhya Pradesh Higher Judicial Service Cadre will receive salary in pay-scale of Rs. 1,44,840-1,94,660. The candidates must go through the MP High Court District Judge Previous Year Papers for reference of the exam.
