IISER IAT 2025 Application Form: Exam Date, Eligibility & Registration

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) has released the 2025 application form to admission in 2025-26 academic session. The IISER Admission Test results are used to determine admission to the BS-MS (Bachelor of Science - Master of Science) dual degree programme. Candidates will be admitted to any one of the seven IISER universities located in Pune, Tirupati, Mohali, Bhopal, Berhampur, Kolkata, and Thiruvananthapuram. Because admission to IISER is done through three channels- SCB, KVPY, and JEE Advanced- different IISER application forms will be released for each channel.

How to Apply Online for IISER 2025?

The application process for the IISER admission is very straightforward. To apply for the exam the candidates can follow the instructions as listed below:

Step 1: Open the official website of IAT on your computer. 

Step 2: Click on the Examination tab and select the Apply for IAT option from the dropdown menu. 

Step 3: The page will be redirected to a new page where the candidates can start the application process. 

Step 4: Click in Apply now and add in all the information in the alloted fields. 

Step 5: Proceed to pay the prescribed application fee and conclude the application process.

IISER Eligibility Criteria 2025

To apply for the entrance examination, all candidates must meet the fundamental eligibility conditions; else, their candidature will be invalidated. The following are some fundamental IISER eligibility criteria.

Admission based on KVPY and SCB

• Candidates with Indian nationality or (OCI) Overseas Citizenship of India are eligible to apply.
• Applicants must have passed the state or national higher secondary exams.
• The candidate for the KVPY channel must have a valid fellowship and meet the fundamental cut off criteria.
• For the JEE channel, the candidate must pass the JEE advanced test and have a rank among the top 10,000.
• Candidates for the SCB channel must have passed higher secondary exams in the science stream.
• The applicant from the reserved category must get 55% of the total marks under the SCB channel, while candidates from the OBC-NC and PWD categories will be awarded a 5% exemption.

Admission based on JEE Advanced Scores

• Candidates must have taken the JEE Advanced Examination for the current year.
• Candidates must have obtained a rank of 15000 or below in the JEE Advance Common Rank List for the General Category.
• Candidates must have a rank of 15000 or less in their respective category (SC/ST/OBC). List of JEE Advance Ranks
• General applicants must obtain at least 60% in their 10+2 examinations.
• OBC/SC/ST applicants must obtain 55% in their 10+2 exams.

Important Documents Required to fill out the IISER Form

Candidates should have the following documents ready when filling out the IISER 2025 application form:

• Valid Email Id and mobile number
• Credit/Debit card or Internet banking details
• Scanned images of Photograph and Signature
• Scanned copy of Class 12th marksheet (If passed)
• Category Certificate (If applicable)
• Photo ID (not mandatory, will be needed later)
• Kashmiri Migrant certificate (If applicable)
• Medical certificate for PwD (If applicable)
• OCI/PIO certificate (If applicable)

• Candidates should not upload false documents as the authorities will prohibit them from being allowed to sit in the IISER Examination.
