Thermal Power Plant Working Principle

Thermal Power Plant FAQs

An economiser in a boiler is essentially a feed water heater. The feed water is fed to the economiser before supplying to the boiler.

The output efficiency of the Thermal Plant = 29.0 % and the Overall efficiency < Thermal Efficiency. It is the amount of output obtained for the fuel supplied.

Types of Steam turbines are namely
Impulse turbine
Reaction turbine

Steam is superheated and reheated in modern steam power plants at temperatures between 440°C and 650°C. The superheaters make use of 40% of the total heat produced in a modern boiler

Pulverizing machines are used to reduce the size of the coal to the required size. The capacity of pulverization units is as high as 600 Tons per hour.
