After Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan returned to the big screens with another highly anticipated film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. The movie has been receiving an amazing response from the audience. Even though the movie is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film ‘Campeones’, the movie has also shown a good response at the box office.
Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 6:
According to the website Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par earned Rs 7.25 crore on day 6 as per early estimates. The movie has earned Rs 82.40 crore in total.
Apart from Aamir Khan, Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia D’souza in the lead role. This is their first on-screen collaboration but the two worked together for Aamir Khan’s produced film ‘Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa’. Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, Aayush Bhansali, Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala, Zeenat Hussain and Nikhat Khan are seen in pivotal roles.
There has been a lot of debate about the OTT release of Sitaare Zameen Par. Aamir Khan will reportedly skip its OTT release and will choose the ‘pay-per-view’ method. In the pay-per-view method, the viewers will need to pay specifically for the particular film they want to see. They wouldn’t need to access any OTT platform to get access to the movie of their choice. This method is similar to theatres as the individual will be paying for the movie they want to see. It also gives more benefits to the producers.
According to The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir Khan wants to use this method for Sitaare Zameen Par. A source told the publication, “Aamir doesn’t want to release his films directly on streaming after their theatrical run, as it discourages viewers from watching movies on the big screen. It is also a reason why there is no streaming logo on the poster of Sitaare Zameen Par.”
